Garcia Freire es periodista y ha publicado artículos de cultura, viajes, perfiles y crónicas en medios como BBC Mundo, Univisión, Plan V, CityLab Latino, la revista de viajes Ñan, BG Magazine y Letras del Ecuador. En 2016 fue alumna de la VII Promoción del Máster de Narrativa de Escuela de Escritores.

Su cuento titulado «Noche de fiesta» fue publicado en la revista La gran belleza. Trabaja como maestra de inglés de primaria y como profesora de escritura creativa en la Universidad del Azuay, en Ecuador. Tiene un jardín, un gato y escribe. Nuestra piel muerta es su primera novela.

La Rompedora ha publicado su relato Cartas desde la infancia, así como su ensayo Carpintería sobre el mal de amor, sobre «El marido rural», relato de John Cheever. También ha sido entrevistada sobre su novela Nuestra piel muerta.

Su primera novela Nuestra piel muerta se publicó en octubre de 2019 en la editorial española La Navaja Suiza.
